Seniors are only 9 days of school left!

 

For those who have not paid their parking fines you must show for traffic court on Tuesday May 13th during 3rd hour.

 

Attention all students, there are a few spaces still available for the field trip to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago on May 28th.  See Mr. Pearson or Mrs. Gabridge for a permission slip if you would like to attend.

 

Saturday School this week will be held Friday, May 9 from 8 a.m. to noon.

 

See Mr. Applegate for the Drama Club Lock-in permission forms.  They must be turned in by Monday in order to attend!  We will not have a lock-in if we do not have enough chaperones.

 

St. Clair High School will be hosting the Battle of the Bands on Saturday, May 17 at 4:00 pm at the Boardwalk in St. Clair.  If your band would like to enter, please call Mrs. Higgins at the SCHS for an application.  It is $5.00 per band member and you need to enter by Friday, May 9.

 

Richmond Police Department Auction: Saturday, May 17th at 1:00pm in the rear parking lot of the Police Department. There are 50 Mountain Bikes – Huffy, BMX. Murray, and other brands as well as miscellaneous items such as tools, sports and stereo equipment, chairs, automotive, etc.

 

Anyone interested in having any of their spring break pictures in the yearbook, please bring them in or email them to bluedevilyearbook@hotmail.com ASAP!

 

The 17th annual Mother’s Day hanging basket sale will begin on Friday, May 9 at roughly 9 a.m.  Pricing will be the same as it has been for the last 3 years, $13 and $15.  The sale runs through Sunday.  The Wrestling Program appreciates your support. 

 

 

 

Today in Sports

 

Good luck to the Varsity Tennis team at Brandon and the JV & Varsity Softball teams at Algonac.  Come out and support the Track team at home in the double dual with Armada and Capac and the JV & Varsity Baseball teams at home against Algonac.

 

Sports

 

Today’s JV tennis practice time has been changed.  The JV tennis team will practice from 4:00 to 5:30 at Beebe Street.

 

Counseling Info

 

 

The deadline for the Homer J. Van Hollenbeck Foundation Scholarship is June 1st.  The award will be $2,000.  Students must have a 2.5 or better GPA and demonstrate a hardship.  More information is available in the counseling office.

 

Thinking about a Hospital Career?  Become a teen volunteer at Port Huron Hospital.  This is great experience for future jobs.  More information available in the counseling office.

 

Scholarship money is available through the Miss Teen USA competition.  Girls 14 to 19 years old are eligible to apply.  More information is available in the counseling office.

 

 

Parents

 

There is a very important Band Booster meeting, this Thursday, May 8th at 6:00pm in the Richmond High School Band Room.

We need to form a "2008 Band Camp Committee," discuss the "2009 High School Disney Trip" and nominate volunteers to fill Band Booster Board positions.

ALL PARENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND!!

 

Reminder:  those students who have selected Dual Enrollment for next year need to return their signed contract to Mrs. Weidner ASAP.

 

The athletic boosters are having their May Meeting on Wednesday, May 7th @ 5:30 in the high school cafeteria.  Boosters are looking to fill officer positions.  Anyone interested in a booster office please attend this important meeting.  5/7

 

2008 Prom:  Fore Lakes Golf Course (Wadhams Road and I-69), May 9th, Doors open 6:45, Dinner @ 7:30, Over @ 11:00.  Cost: $45 per person.

 

On-Line classes for high school are being offered at Richmond High for 24 days from ine 9 – July 17.  Cost is $400 per class /$450 for AP classes.  Contact the Counseling office for further details.

 

Macomb Community College will be offering Career Academies this summer.  These are hands-on opportunities to learn about law enforcement, culinary arts, fire service, robotics, vet tech, biotech, and/or media arts.  Information is available in the counseling office.

 

Interested in becoming a civil engineer?  If so, U of D Mercy is hosting a one-week summer camp. Information is available in the counseling office.

 

Students who have failed Algebra 1 and/or English 9 will have the opportunity to make up ½ credit this summer.  Classes will run from June 9 through July 17th.  For further details contact the Counseling office.  Cost is $75 per class.

 

We will be working on the decorations for the Project Graduation All Night Party on Sunday May 4th from 1-4 and Wednesday May 7th at 6 p.m, 4276 Church Road between Puttygut and Lindsey.
