The Richmond Community School District is located on M-19 between I-69 and I-94 at 32-Mile Road. Richmond serves as a regional hub, servicing a primary center of commerce centered between Pt. Huron and Mt. Clemens. Business composition is well diversified. The city provides three shopping districts. The rural setting leaves residents with a hometown atmosphere while never lacking the benefit of modern conveniences.
Richmond is projected to be one of the largest areas of growth (population increase of 50% in ten years) in the tri-county area.

- The district will actively involve the community in topics and issues
related to the governance of the Richmond Community Schools.
- 2007/2008 Objective: Promote academic achievement and student activities
in the news media serving the community.
- The district will develop and maintain a comprehensive curriculum.
- 2007/2008 Objective 1: Incorporate the State mandated requirements in
all buildings.
- 2007/2008 Objective 2: Selectively endorse building initiatives and
recognize accomplishments at the regular board meeting throughout the
year.
- 2007/2008 Objective 3: Investigate, develop, administer and evaluate
programs of instruction to keep on a competitive level with other school
districts and provide more learning options for students at the high
school level.
- The district will maintain a school improvement and accountability process
for building and department.
- 2007/2008 Objective: Buildings and departments will share improvement
plan goals at board meetings by December 2007 and share progress towards
goals by June 2008.
- In the face of exceptionally difficult financial times, the district
will attempt to remain solvent.
- 2007/2008 Objective: Negotiate labor contracts that are sustainable.
- The district will recruit, retain, and develop quality personnel.
- 2007/2008 Objective: Develop a staffing plan to meet long-term needs and
increase efficiency in scheduling.
- The district will provide quality facilities that meet the enrollment and instructional needs of the community.
- 2007/2008 Objective: Pass bond proposals 1 & 2 and the Sinking Fund
proposal on November 6.
