Senior Awards

FOUR YEAR AWARDS:

Four year athletes are defined by those student athletes who participate in one sport for their four years of their high school experience.  These athletes are recognized at the annual senior award night.  In order to be eligible for the award the student-athlete must start and finish the sports season in good standing.  

United States Marine Athletic Award:

The Marine Corp. recognize one senior male and female athlete each year.  The student athletes nominated by RHS Staff must participate in two sports, have good grades, and show leadership and character traits that the corp. would be proud of.  These student-athletes are recognized during the senior award night.

Army Scholar Athlete Award:

The U.S. Army recognize one senior male and female athlete each year.  The student athletes nominated by RHS Staff must participate in at least two sports, have a minimum g.p.a. of 3.0, and show that they are an ambassador of leadership.

These student-athletes are recognized during the senior award night.

Detroit News/Free Press Scholar Athlete:

Each year one male or female student athlete is nominated by the RHS Staff.  The student athlete selected will be featured in a special addition of the newspaper.  The student athlete is recognized during the senior award night.

Michigan High School Athletic Association Scholarship Awards:

Annually the MHSAA gives out $1000 scholarships to winning candidates.  Applicants can apply via the MHSAA website.  Our local applicants will be recognized during the senior award night if they become a regional winner.

RICHMOND HIGH SCHOOL - SCHOLARSHIP-SPORTSMANSHIP-LEADERSHIP AWARD:

Criteria:

       3.0 GPA or Higher, Participation in at least two sports for 4 years, thus showing qualities of dedication

       and perseverance.  The athlete must show excellent sportsmanship qualities towards teammates, officials, and    

       opponents that he or she faces, as they represent Richmond High School, and the Community of Richmond

       The student athlete select by the RHS Staff will be recognized during the senior award night.
